Democrates Go Mud Slinging
The Dems relased an animation ad, (obviously Granholm cant show her face on a ad), called "See Dick Run" the ad blames Dick, and President Bush for Michigan's failurs. Then Bush and Dick appear to be pushing a BLUE Michigan around. I find a BLUE Michigan funny when about 90% of the county's voted for Bush. Any ways the ad blames Dick, when all the blame has been said is false, by pro Democrate press!! Do the Democrates have any thing they can use to win? For one thing, not there record!!!

I saw the cartoon at the Michigan Democratic Convention this past weekend in Detroit, and it was a big hit. Isn’t great how humor really gets the word out on what a scum bag the Amway guy really is.
No, the ad does not blame Bush and the Amway guy for Michigan’s failures. It blames the failure of the auto industry to maintain market share and its decision to offshore jobs made possible and encouraged by bush’s policies for the economic problems in Michigan, and the problems can also be attributed to actions taken by the Amway guy to offshore jobs to a Communist country
I have no earthly clue what you are talking about when you say; “I find a BLUE Michigan funny when about 90% of the county's voted for Bush.” Michigan has been a blue state for the past four Presidential elections, since 1992 when we went for President Bill Clinton.
Nor do I know what you are talking about when you talk about the “pro-Democrat press.” Please, don’t tell me you’re buying into the tired old republician strategy of the “liberal media bias.” I hope you’re smarter than that.
To answer your question, “Do the Democrates have any thing they can use to win?” The answer is yes, and I assume you are just talking about the Governor. She has a record of job creation, desopte the best efforts by the obstructionist Leglisature, and she has managed to balance the budget with no signficiant cuts despite being left a $4 billon deficit by the previous adminstration.
Yes the ad did blame Bush and Dick, (and if we are going to have a civilized debate use at least his last name, not the Amway guy, or scum bag), for Micigans failures, and I quote- Dick has friends. George Bush is his friend. See Dick help George Bush. Six hundred and two thousand dollars! See Dick and George hurt Michigan. Bad Dick. Bad George.
I think I am right?!? And here are some facts for you. Dick is an independent Republican who can get the job done for the people of Michigan.
- Just last week, Dick charged the White House with ignoring the Big 3 and demanded that President Bush start addressing the needs of Michigan automakers.
And while I was talking about the Governor I was also talking about the Democrates as a party!!!!
And I guess I am not smart enough to figure out that the press is THE EXTREMEST LEFT WING OF OUR COUNTRY!!!!
Yes, the cartoon did blame bush and the Amway guy for the reasons I pointed out in the previous post, and it was 100 percent correct
And here are some facts for you. The Amway guy has no record of success in any avenue, including business, government or politics. His bid to dismantle public education and get around the 1st Amendment that he spent millions of dollars on failed, and the only jobs he ever created were in a communist country. He is so closely tied to bush it’s not funny. He is the single largest individual contributor to the bush campaign, and after forking over that kind of money he should have been able to give W a call on his cell phone instead of calling a showy press conference to do it. Perhaps a bigger question you need to ask both of them is why wouldn’t he meet with some of the largest employers in the country to begin with. He can find time to have dinner with the American Idol finalist and host t-ball games on the WH lawn, but he can’t meet with the Big 3 automakers? Come on.
You still have not told me why you think Michigan is not a blue state.
I guess you don’t have the intelligence I gave you credit for, especially when you make ridiculous statement like the “press is THE EXTREMEST LEFT WING OF OUR COUNTRY!!!! “
That is simply not true, and despite almost 40 years of constant, baseless attacks by republicans it still is not true, and it never has been. I guess they never got over the fact that two young, aggressive hard-working reporters showed the world the snake pit that was the Nixon White House and caused its demise.
What are you basing that lie on, anyway?
I will now answer your question about why I think Micigan is a red state, and not a blue state. If you look at the 2004 election by Michigan county you will find that about 90% of Michigan county's are red county's. Blue county's are in the Detroit area, Flint, Lansing, and Marquette. Every where else is loyal to the GOP!!!
On to what I am basing my "lie" on is that every news channel, but Fox News, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, NBC, all say what the Democrates are doing right, and what the Republicans are doing wrong!!! Fox news however says both what the Democrates are doing right and wrong, (obviously they spend more time on what they are doing wrong because the list is so much longer), and they also say what the Republicans are doing right, AND wrong. Just wacth Hannity & Colmes.
That is my answers and I think that I am right!!! Now answer my question, how can you support a Governor who has NO PLAN TO CHANGE MICHIGAN'S ECONMOY AROUND?!?!
I’m sorry Bigshot, by every measure Michigan is a Blue state, and it has been since 1992. However, I did look at the 2004 election results, not the 92, 96 or 2000. You fudged a little, it’s 80 percent of the counties went for bush, but the majority of them were very close. I wouldn’t consider counties like Alger, Aremac, Bay, Gogebic and Isabella urban areas. However, the true measure is total votes, and Michigan is blue. It’s kind of like when Al Gore actually won with the most popular votes, as well as electoral votes with Florida, we were told to get over it. I suggest you take the same advice.
When you talk about the major news networks, you are voicing your opinion, and it’s not based on a shred of fact. When you use the tired, untrue republican strategy of smearing the messenger with the “liberal media bias” lie you are smearing every single journalist and reporter, to the local reporter who could be your neighbor who works hard to get the story right and fair to the NBC, ABC and CBS news anchors.
Fox was created to combat a problem that did not exist, so how can it not be biased? The problem with news outlets is that they are all owned by a few huge corporations that only care about profit not good journalism.
I can watch faux news anytime from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and bring you numerous actual examples of right wing bias. Maybe we should do that, I watch faux and you want CNN and we compare notes.
The Governor does have a plan, and she has been working it for three years despite being blocked at every turn by the do-nothing, obstructionist Legislature.
You are right I should get over it. But I was trying to give you the facts. Thank you also for correcting me about the 80% instead of the 90%.
Again that is my opinon of the news, and you have yours, and I thank you for sharing it to me, mabye now I can be open minded toward the news!!!
I would like to wonder what the Governor's plan is. If you watch DeVos's speech at the convention, (devosforgovernor.com), he says his plan, and shows off the book that the public can access. What is the Governor's plan?!?
My opinion on the news is based on fact, not a disgusting political strategy that tars an entire profession. If you want me to back that fact up I certainly can.
I noticed on your other blog you are an avid reader like I am. May I suggest a couple of books to you in a gesture of friendship? The first one I just finished, it’s called “Manhunt” The 12-day Chase for Lincoln’s Killer,” by James L. Swanson. It was a very interesting book. The other one addresses the “liberal media bias” myth. It’s called “Blinded by the Right: The Conscience of an Ex-Conservative,” by David Brock.
The Amway guy’s book you’re talking about, is that the one he’s charging $15 for? Here’s just a sample of the governor’s plan actually working.
Thank you for the recomendations on the books, I will look into them.
I misspoke about the DeVos book, it is a pamphlet and it is FREE!!! Though the book is fifteen dollars.
I was watching the news, and you are right the liberal media, is there, but not at the fore front.
Thanks again.
I’m sorry, but I don’t understand what you are trying to say when you say, “…the liberal media, is there, but not at the fore front.”
I’m not trying to start an argument or be insulting, but I honestly don’t understand what you mean. The media has a lot of faults, please don’t misunderstand me, but a constant “liberal media bias” is not one of them. Is there some liberal media bias among individuals, of course, but so is there conservative bias.
The real problem, as I see it, is reporters tend to be a bit lazy, and often don’t follow up and too often take people’s word for things and are not skeptical enough. But, to me, the biggest problem is corporate ownership of large news outlets where profit trumps news value, fairness and professionalism.
Thanks for the civil discourse. Too often - and I am to blame too - political discussions get ugly with lots of name-calling.
