Iraq Showing Progress

Well the Dems were wrong...again...President Bush's surge of troops is working..violence is down and peace looks emminent. But there is still violence and much work needs to be done...but everything will be accomplished if America waits it out and secures a free Iraq.

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Two suicide bombers turned a procession of Shiite pilgrims into a blood-drenched stampede Tuesday, killing scores with a first blast and then claiming more lives among fleeing crowds. At least 106 were killed amid a wave of deadly strikes against Shiites heading for a solemn religious ritual.

But there was also a louder message in the carnage that left at least 130 pilgrims dead throughout Iraq: U.S.-backed authorities remain virtually powerless to stop suspected Sunni insurgents trying to push Iraq toward a sectarian civil war.

U.S. forces, too, continue to tally losses at the hands of extremists despite signs of more successful raids against bases and weapon stockpiles. The military said nine soldiers were killed Monday in two separate roadside bombings north of Baghdad, making it the deadliest day for U.S. troops in Iraq in nearly a month.

Yes, violence is down all right. Where are you getting your news, Faux?

I did get my information from Fox News and also NBC. I also said that violence is still being used, and then I went furthur by saying that America can succeed in Iraq, but it will take time, and the American people need to relize that.

Sorry. When you say making progress I assume you means deaths, which to me is the most important thing, are down. Maybe you missed this bit of news that says things like “U.S.-backed authorities remain virtually powerless…” or “…making it the deadliest day for U.S. troops in Iraq in nearly a month.”

By the way, what kind of progress are they making on finding those weapons of mass destruction that are a direct threat to the U.S.? If you remember, that was the actual allaged reason we invaded Iraq to being with.

Four years isn't enough?

You liberals can't give up the fact that TONY BLAIR'S ASSUMPTION, which George Bush agreed with, was wrong. So what if they were wrong, America is still freeing people from an evil dictator.

The progress that I am talking about is that areas that were formerly hot spots are now not, but other areas are still hot spots. That is directly from NBC.

Ah, what? This is Tony Blair's fault? He had the good sense to withdraw.

I did not say that this war is Tony Blair's fault. Tony Blair is only pulling out from political pressure. No matter what you or any other of your liberal friends say I will still support this war because of one main reason...America is freeing thousands of people.

An army report says violence has gone down 80% in Bagdahd since the surge.

Hey, no problem. You do what you feel is right. You can support the civil war/occupation; I'll support the troops.
