Granholm Appears to be Losing Any Possible Chance to Stay Governor

In a recent article on the Michigan Republican blog, "That's Saul, folks!", titled Articles of interests 6-19-06, in the fifth paragraph there is a little quote from Stuart Rothenberg who is watching the Governor Race in Michigan very closely says, Falling Star: What ever happened to Jennifer Granholm?. This is so true, have you seen Granholm's commercials? They are so dull, and boring, while DeVos's are bright, and wanting you to vote. He also gives a clear platform, eliminate the SBT, (Small Businessss Tax), while Granholm gives absolutelyey no platform, but bring more jobs tMichiganin. Below is a possible scene in a debate.

Debate foGovernoror-
Mediator- So Mrs. Granholm, what is your plan to turn Michigain's economy around?
Granholm- Well we need to bring in more jobs tMichiganin.mediatoror- Mr. DeVos, same question.
DeVos- Well my plan is first to eliminate the SBT, (Small Businessss Tax), which will lebusinessss hire more employees. Then we make surMichiganin corporations are competitive in the global market.

DeVos's plan is whaMichiganin needs, a plan that is layed out in black and white, not Granholm's plan which just gives a generic plan.

While the governor is out beating the bushes and doing whatever she can to bring jobs to Michigan, devos is outsourcing Michigan jobs to Communist China and making slick TV commercials with money give to him. Yea, great job, dick. Money apparently can buy a lot, but it can’t make you a good governor.

Kevins,

Did you read the interview on republicanmichigainder.blogspot.com with DeVos? I believe he said that what ever he put into China, he put even more into Michigain. Again you really need to get your facts straight before going public!!!

Of course I read the campaign piece on dan’s website. You need to get your facts straight. He cut 1,400 jobs in Michigan, created jobs in China and invested millions in a repressive, Communist, country. So much for the evil empire. You need to do some research before you spout off, and after you do that, then come and see me.

Kevin's,

I read that interview very carefully, and it said NOTHING about cutting jobs in Michigan!!! Also where do you come off saying that I need to do MY research? I did my research and DeVos did not cut ANY jobs in Michigan!!!

Gee, you don't really think devos would tell you about the 1,400 Michigan jobs he cut in a canned campainhg piece do you?

I stand by what I said about not doing any research. Sorry you’re offended, but it’s true. This is from the May 18 2000 Detroit Free Pres
Amway Corp., Michigan's largest direct-sales company, said Wednesday that it's eliminating 1,300 jobs -- or about 11 percent of its workforce worldwide -- as part of an plan to focus more on e-commerce opportunities.
About 900 jobs will come from Amway's headquarters in Ada, which employs 4,500 people. Most of the cuts there will occur among the 2,700 managers and salaried staff members, Amway officials said.
"We truly hate to have to part with so many talented, hard-working people. But like so many companies today, we must adapt our business to succeed in the new economy, where the Internet is transforming business," Amway President Dick DeVos said in a statement.
DeVos and Amway Chairman Steve Van Andel began notifying workers about the cuts at 6 a.m. Wednesday. Employees will be identified for cuts throughout the summer and let go by the end of the year, company officials say.
Amway employees described the mood at the company as somber Wednesday.
Amway officials insisted the cuts announced Wednesday are being done for a different reason than the 2,000 job eliminations -- some taken as early retirements -- that took place at Amway in 1998.

I live in NW Ohio. My HOG group, of 120 members, was planning a trip to Dundee. I killed the plan when I said I don't ride in Mich., they have a helmet law! The fact is I have not set foot in Mich., in over 20 years, with or without my bike, due to the helmet law.
I don't need Jenny-poo, takeing money from the insurance industry and telling me how to ride my motorcycle.
